From the Desk of the President Bishop Garland Hunt – February 2025
Friends,
I am so grateful today that even the hard pathways overflow with abundance because we serve a mighty God who is compassionate, merciful, slow to anger and abounding in unconditional love.
In fact, God shows us love in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Isn’t that good news? The absolute best news of all is that God so loved the world, that He give His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Do you believe these truths straight from God’s word? If so, I challenge you today to cling to God’s Holy word daily, drawing near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and grace to help us in time of need.
I also ask that we take up Peter’s mantle and keep loving each other earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. You see, if we love God, we are called to love people. As we seek to be obedient to God, out of our love for Him, we are called to actively love others. That’s a tall order. And yet, God intends for His love for us to flow to others—even during the most difficult seasons—through all of it, God wants us to be infected by His powerful, transformative love for us. He wants His love for us to cause us to walk in forgiveness, overlook offenses and embrace people in their brokenness—just as He has done for us countless times.
I am reminded that unconditional love is a tremendous gift from the Lord that I am unworthy of and can’t fully comprehend. I can’t earn it, and I can’t lose it, praise God!
As you extend love to your family, friends, church members and community, just remember that you do so under the banner of God’s boundless, limitless, unconditional love for you. His love rejoices over you!
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8
Thankful for God’s Unconditional Love,
Bishop Garland Hunt
